“At the moment I work in London but walk to the station, when going to local meetings I will walk or cycle (dependant on the distance). My motivation to travel actively is to lose weight and improve my cardio vascular fitness. I aim to exercise a minimum of 5 days per week with at least 30 minutes of walking per day). I got involved with BFF to try and bring the community together to encourage each other to get fitter. I lead the beginners running/walking group on Mondays at 6pm and plan to try the Saturday cycling group, and Bikeability. I am also starting to support other members on a mid-week evening with their running” (all groups meet at Costa Coffee,Turner Rise Retail park, see BFF web-site for more details) .
“I see individuals running and whilst we are a friendly bunch and acknowledge each other it would be nice to have a local support network for all abilities and ages. I would like BFF to generate local community groups where we can support/encourage each other, as we all think that taking the first step is the hardest but its maintaining the changes that proves more difficult!”
